This house is an example of the customer having all the ideas and they just brought us along for the ride.
The deck features custom stainless steel posts with glass clamps
10mm clear tempered glass with polished edges. The side of the deck facing the neighbours is a frosted Acid Etch tempered glass for added privacy. The advantage of doing this would be to keep the same consistent look everywhere.
After we closed in the area under the deck in another phase, there was another problem that arose.
The water running off the deck was dripping onto the windows and doors below. A simple eavestrough probably would have worked just fine
But it wouldn’t look like this..
What you are looking at is a custom aluminum bracket system, designed and engineered to create a 24″ glass “drip ledge”.
The aluminum brackets were designed, fabricated, welded and polished in our own fabrication shop.
The glass is attached to these posts with stainless steel stand-offs. and had a 1 degree slope to permit smooth water run-off.
At that point you would think all the issues would have been solved. Until you try to deal with the wind off West Lake..
